Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about auto glass repair, replacement, and aftercare.

After Your Service

How long do I have to wait before driving after a windshield replacement?

You need to wait a minimum of 30 minutes before driving. This allows the urethane adhesive to set enough for safe driving. We'll let you know exactly when your vehicle is ready.

What aftercare is required for my new windshield?

For the first 24 hours after installation: (1) Leave a window cracked slightly — this prevents the vacuum effect from opening and closing doors, which can cause air leaks. (2) Avoid car washes and high-pressure washers — water pressure can compromise the seal before it fully cures. (3) Leave the tape on — we apply tape to hold the molding in place while the urethane cures. Keep it on for 24 hours, then you can remove it.

What's your warranty?

Chip repairs come with a lifetime warranty — if the chip spreads, we'll credit the repair cost toward new glass. New glass installations have a 1-year warranty covering rock chips, stress breaks, and any installation-related issues.

Services & Pricing

How much does a windshield replacement cost?

It depends on your vehicle's make, model, and year. Our labor is a flat $100, urethane is $30, and glass prices vary ($180–$1,200+). Text or call us with your vehicle info and we'll give you an exact quote in minutes — no obligation.

Do I need ADAS calibration after a windshield replacement?

If your vehicle has a front-facing camera (for lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, etc.), yes — calibration is required after a windshield replacement. The camera needs to be recalibrated to work properly with the new glass. We're Autel certified and can handle calibration for all makes and models except Tesla.

What's the difference between OEM and OEE glass?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) glass is made by the same company that made your original windshield. OEE (Original Equipment Equivalent) glass is made to the same specifications and safety standards, often by the same manufacturers, but costs less. We typically recommend OEE for the best balance of quality and value — it meets all safety standards at a better price.

How long does a windshield replacement take?

Most replacements take about 1 to 1.5 hours, plus the 30-minute cure time before you can drive. If ADAS calibration is needed, add about 30–45 minutes depending on the type of calibration required.

Insurance & Payment

Do you work with insurance?

Yes! We can work with your insurance company. We do require you to be present (in person or on a three-way call) to confirm your identity and authorize us as your chosen shop. We'll provide all the documentation you need for reimbursement.

What if my deductible is more than the repair cost?

If your deductible is higher than the cost of the job, it usually makes more sense to pay out of pocket. We'll give you an honest assessment and let you know the best option for your situation.

Service Area & Scheduling

Do you offer mobile service?

Yes! We offer mobile service throughout the North Fork Valley. We can come to your home, workplace, or wherever is convenient for you. Mobile chip repairs are $40, and mobile replacements include the same flat-rate labor as in-shop work.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Hotchkiss, Paonia, Delta, Cedaredge, Sommerset, and Crawford. If you're nearby but not listed, give us a call — we may still be able to help.

What are your hours?

We're open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. We don't offer emergency or after-hours service at this time.
